Our Circle

Our commitment to safety

Getting to know other families starts with trust. Our Circle combines privacy controls, content moderation, and ways to raise concerns so you can make informed choices about sharing and connecting.

How we protect your family.

Organizations stay in their own space.

Joining a clinic or organization group does not open up your Our Circle account. Only a Verified Organization can create one: a hospital, clinic, school, or nonprofit working with us under a separate agreement. They manage it in Gather by Our Circle, a separate app built for organizations.

An organization can see four things about you.

  • Your name

  • Your profile photo

  • Your email address

  • Your city and state

Along with whatever you choose to share inside their group. That is the whole of it.

Your full family profile, including your children’s support needs, your private messages with other families, your connections, and everything else you do in Our Circle stay with you. Before you join a group you see exactly what the organization can see, joining is your choice, and leaving removes their view of your profile.

What happens in your Circle stays separate from what you choose to share with an organization.

This isn’t everything we do.

These are some of the protections we thought were worth putting in front of you right away. They are not the whole list, and we keep adding to it.

We built Our Circle around the safety of families raising children with support needs, and we are committed to protecting that trust as we grow.

If you have a question about safety or privacy, or you are not sure how something works, please ask. We would love to talk it through with you. Email us at help@ourcircle.org.
